"Based on statistical data stealing of cultural goods in Hungary now occurs with 7 to 8 hundred thefts per year. The damage caused can be as high as 1.000 million HUF (400 thousand €). Although the numbers of cases are reducing the damage caused is growing, criminals' methods are getting more and more sophisticated, art treasure thieves work more professionally and purposefully. Besides we can deduce from the solved cases the dimensions of the theft and the significance of the huge damage illegally committed on archaeological sites. Illegal export and import activities of our cultural assets discovered by customs officials are also significant. We can deduce the routes of the organized smuggling of cultural goods from these cases: our country is situated just by the southern and east-western "main routes". Stealing and smuggling of cultural goods create worldwide the third most profitable crimes after the arms and drug trade.

On the occasion of the exhibition-opening the heads of the three authorities signed an agreement of cooperation in order to better serve the protection of our heritage and to reduce cultural crime. The exhibition is organized by the three competent authorities and with the financial support of the National Crime Prevention Center of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The goods exhibited are protected by Scotchshield™ Ultra Strong Window Film, which creates an invisible coating on the inside surface of the windows and doors, increasing significantly in this way their resistance against aggressive intrusion and vandalism. The films produced with multi-micro layered technology provide a thirty-two times more tearing and 6 times more pulling resistance.
